Bridal Memory Wall Quilt

A no-sew or low-sew project

by Bonnie Benjamin

IDEA - Make your Bridal Shower into a group crafting party!

You will need:

  • 1 (or more) - #C1105 Double Wedding Ring Kit(s).
Note: At 4 signatures per "Ring", each kit will hold 36 signatures. If you need to accommodate more signatures purchase the appropriate number of kits and see instructions at the end for assembling them into a larger wall hanging. Or just make several pillows.
  • 1 - Brown or Black fine tipped fabric safe pen
(Test it on a scrap of fabric first to be sure it doesn't bleed.)
  • Various small laces, pearls, beads, jewels, ribbon, flowers, etc. for embellishment.
In the example shown, I used 5½ yards of ¼" lace.
  • Glue gun and/or sewing machine depending on embellishments chosen.
  • Teflon pressing sheet or a piece of baker's parchment to protect your iron from any stray adhesive.
Step #1 - Following instructions in the kit, assemble the Double Wedding Ring Quilt design centered on the background fabric. Iron in place.
Step #2 - Have all your friends, relatives, bridal shower guests, etc. sign in the rings. It is easier to sign before you add the embellishments.

Step #3 - Add embellishments either with a glue gun or by sewing on, depending on what you have chosen.

Finishing

  • Option #1 - (no sew) Mount to an adhesive needlework board, cut to about 17½" X 17½". Roll excess fabric to back and secure. Frame if desired and hang.
  • Option #2 - Purchase 18" pillow form. Cut 18" square from a fabric of your choice. Seam right together, turn insert pillow form and hand stitch shut.
  • Option #3 - Layer with batting and backing and machine or hand quilt. Bind for a wall quilt or finish as a pillow.
